Summer is Finally Here!

Well I don’t know about you, but I am SOOOO ready for the summer! Not only have we all been riding the Covid Rollercoaster of lockdowns these past 15 months, but here in Canada the warmer months only last so long, so we are all very anxious to get out there and enjoy it!

As the restrictions are being lifted throughout Canada, many businesses are opening their doors to the public again. That means we can travel across borders, safely stay in hotels and enjoy patio/restaurant dining, visit friends and families for those backyard barbeques, and book those camping sites and beach getaways!

What do you have planned? I know I am going to be hiking and kayaking this year. Being so close to the Rocky Mountains is a blessing that motivates me to get into the Great Outdoors more! I know there will be several family gatherings over bonfires with roasted marshmallows and many get togethers with friends I have missed so very much through this pandemic. The one Event I look forward to every summer is the Calgary Folk Festival, and this year it is back in full swing! And I am proud to say I have been a festival volunteer for the past 17 years, so last year when it was cancelled was heart breaking, and to be outdoors enjoying live music once again will be a treasure.

I surely hope this is the end of “Covid 19” , and encourage everyone to get vaccinated. I know I will continue to follow some of the required health standards we have been following these last months and encourage you to do the same. When you can, wash your hands regularly, wear a mask if you feel it deemed to do so and practice social distancing in large public areas when possible.

Be kind and considerate to everyone. We are all in this together and want to kick this to the curb!!

So go out there! Enjoy the summer sunshine and embrace those friends and family members you have missed so much!
